hi emily,
this sounds great! my only suggestion would be to include a reference to the seniors who graduated in the fall, who didn't take eng 189. Just so they don't feel left out on the flier.

Have the fall seniors been invited to read with us? I probably missed the info somewhere...
Hi Emily,
This is what I sent to student activities (Courtney Young-Law and the bunch) to be posted on the calendar/possibly front page. I took some liberties with your original announcement--I hope you don't mind. :)
Event title: Put a Fork in It; It's Done
Description: "Please join us for a reading of our senior creative
writers' literary masterpieces on Monday, April 30, 7-9 PM, in the
Bender Room in Carnegie. Students in Elmaz Abinader's creative writing
thesis class, as well as the '06 winter graduates, will be reading
brief selections from their labors of love. Shared works will include
everything from poetry to short stories, young adult fiction to memoir.
Delicious snacks and drinks will be served -- this will be a smashing,
energetic event!"
I also just realized I forgot to mention that we're reading our THESES, but I'll get it right for student news.
Thanks Kim! I'll use your final version for the poster
Cool! :D I ended up changing it a little...However you want to make the flyers is fine, but just in case you're interested, I rewrote it as:
"Thesis excerpts will include everything from poetry
to short stories, young adult fiction to memoir."
Anyway. Now I'm being nitpicky. Can you tell I wish I was in the thesis editing instead of writing phase? ;)
